  • The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) launched a health and nutrition helpline to ensure children under six years of age get nutritional supplements and regular immunisation doses. The helpline is ‘Sehat evam Poshan Saathinwas’.
  • First all India Happiness Report covering all statesin which Mizoram, Punjab, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Top India Happiness Report 2020; Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana at Bottom.
  • India- United States conducts 10th Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) Group meeting held virtually. It held twice a year.
  • Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package Insurance Scheme for Health Workers extended for another 180 days. It was announced in March 2020. It provide insurance upto Rs. 50 Lakh.
  • Union Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism of India, Prahlad Patel announced to set up 16-memebr committee to study Ancient Indian Cutlure.
  • Prime Minister to dedicate the historic Kosi Rail Mahasetu to the Nation.To inaugurate New Rail Lines and Electrification Projects in Bihar for the benefit of passengers.
  • Rajasthan Government signed MoU with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to develop its Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem.
  • Parliament passes the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda Bill 2020. This paves the way to establish a state-of-the-art Ayurvedic institution called the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) at Jamnagar, Gujarat, and to confer the status of Institution of National Importance (INI) to it.
  • Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved 121-km Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, which will connect Palwal and Sonipat.
  • Lok Sabha passes bill to cut salaries of MPs by 30 percent. The Salary, Allowances and Pension of Members of Parliament (Amendment) Bill, 2020 introduced in the Lower House was cleared by the cabinet to reduce salaries of MPs by 30 per cent for 1 year to meet the exigencies arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank presents first ever AICTE Visvesvaraya Best Teacher Awards 2020 to 12 faculty members of AICTE approved institutes.
  • In Jammu and Kashmir, Horticulture Department launched Flagship programme Backyard Horticulture under CAPEX scheme. Under the programme at least three fruit plants costing Rs. 200 will be distributed among the farmers at 90% subsidy covering 600 households.
  • Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha e-inaugurates career education platform for students.
  • Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB) releases report 'A WORLD IN DISORDER'.


INTERNATIONAL Affairs


  • China launched nine satellites into orbit from ship stationed in the Yellow Sea.
  • Mexico became the first country in the world to issue a sovereign bond linked to the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations, raising EUR 750 million ($890 million).
  • United States partners with Mekong Nations (Cambodia,Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam) to counter China's growing influence in South China Sea.


 Business Banking, Economic & Finance Affairs


  • Parliamentary panel proposes tax incentives for startups. It has recommended abolition of Long-Term Capital Gain (LTCG) tax for investment in start-ups.
  • Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recommends self regulating body for cloud service providers (CSP).
  • Vinod Kumar Mishra appointed as MD & CEO of Petronet's LNG Limited.
  • France based EDF Group signs MoU for Centre of Excellence in India.
  • Reserve Bank of India mandated the automation of bad-loan recognition by banks by June 30, 2021. The processes of provisioning calculation and income recognition will also have to be automated & banks will be required to upgrade their systems accordingly.
  • According to ADB’s Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2020 Update, India's economy is expected to contract by 9% this year.
  • As compared to previous years, Foreign Direct Investment has increased in the financial year 2018-19 to $62.00 billion from $60.97 billionin FY18.
  • The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Sanctioned Rs 1,568 crore worth of proposals under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
  • SBI General Insurance and YES Bank have signed a corporate agency agreement for the distribution of the general insurer’s retail products.
  • The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to implement new loan scheme for women's SHGs.
  • Vi  (formerly Vodafone Idea) launched integrated 4G network named as 'GIGAnet'
